Sunday, Day Rides
Sunday Rides leave St.Margarets Green, Ipswich at 9:30am sharp (unless otherwise stated )

If you can't get to the start for 9:30am, please phone the rides leader of the day to find a point where you could meet, or join at the elevenses stop.
The leader will be able to give an indication of the distance between stops.

 There are occasional Pick-Up Points (PU) at the following locations and approximate times:-
(The time is a guide only, based on a 9.30 start. If the ride passes earlier it will not be expected to wait).
	A - St. Augustines Church, 9.45	   B - Bourne Bridge, 9.40	  Br - Bramford Picnic Site, 9.50
	C - Hadleigh Rd, Chantry Park entrance 9.40	   S - Sproughton Wild Man, 9.45	  W - Washbrook, Whights Corner, 9:50
	Wh  - Whitton Church Lane, junction with Old Norwich Road, 9.45
Food & Drink- It is advisable to carry a drink and a packed lunch as food is not always assured at lunch stops.

Ride Categories (RC) - Rides are graded as to distance and average speed.
	E (Easy) rides are leisurely and are suited to newcomers or those who prefer an easy pace.
	M (Medium) rides are suited to club members and to riders with some experience.
	H (Hard) rides are more suited to regular club riders, are of a brisk pace and cover around 80 miles in summer.

Rides Resume.

The Summer Supper is nearly upon us, and it may even be to late to book as I write. The rides committee has come up with another interesting program, helped by some significant mile-stones. Ken Nichols celebrates 50 years of cycling in Suffolk with a mystery tour at the end of July. Jim Long has a big birthday coming up 7th September and I am sure his breakfast ride will not be one to miss. Early August we have slotted in breakfast rides to the Bury st Edmunds area. There's a social event (BBQ) at Blaxhall village hall Friday evening 8th Aug.
The Mildenhall cycle rally and camping weekend is the 23rd/24th August and Paul Broom is taking bookings. The 31st of August sees the regular Presidents Picnic, this year at Thorpe-ness. It should be nice by the mere or even on the beach. Last but not least Paul Fenton is organising a hostel weekend to Cambridge and Saffron Walden at the end of September.
On a serious note, now that summer is coming some may be tempted to stretch themselves on a harder ride, and I would ask that if you do and can't keep up, be prepared to go it alone for the sake of not spoiling others enjoyment.
Still on a serious note, many if not all of you will have heard of Ken Saunders and Mick pepper's accidents, unashamedly I am taking this opportunity to ask you to read my piece about safety in this issue. The next Rides committee meeting will be 16th July at my place.
