We will be helping at the Wildlife Homes Event on Saturday 9th August between 10:00am and 1:00pm in Ellenbrook Meadow (the former playing field opposite the old bus turning circle in Ellenbrook Drive: map ). This event is being organised by Greenways, Ipswich Wildlife Group and the Friends of Belstead Brook Park with the aim of improving the wildlife habitat in a corridor between Stonelodge Park and Ellenbrook Meadow for wildlife to easily migrate between the two park areas. The event is particularly aimed at local people living in this Wildlife Corridor who can improve their gardens for wildlife, but everyone is welcome. Please walk or take public transport to the event. Cars can be very carefully parked along Ellenbrook Drive and in the old bus circle but this is very limited.
Experts will be on hand to show you how to build your own Bird nest boxes, Hedgehog boxes, Bug Houses, Insect Towers and tell you where to best locate them. They will also give advice on wildlife friendly flowers and features.
If you want to know more about building homes for wildlife then IWG has an excellent web page all about it:
