The Challenge: Rising wealth and greater health and happiness increasingly diverge, raising questions about the true basis of well-being and contentment.
Three local projects that are addressing Health and Happiness are:
The Apricot Centre gives courses and experiences on the theme of 'sustainable living' for the general public and for professionals in the fields of therapy, creativity, and agriculture/horticulture. It is located near Manningtree. You can also hire the venue for your own meetings and events.
The Town & Bridge Project works with people 45–74 years old who live in the Town Centre & Stoke Bridge areas of Ipswich. It aims to help people improve their health and well being through improved housing, safer neighbourhoods, better access to welfare and debt advice, healthy eating, social and physical activity and healthy lifestyles.
The project supports and empowers people to make positive changes to their lifestyles to reduce the risk of stroke, heart attacks, lung disease and cancer and help people to improve where they live and feel safer in their community.

The People’s Community Garden, based at Maidenhall Allotments [Map], makes it possible for people of all age groups, backgrounds, disabilities and cultures to grow fresh produce, plants and herbs and learn about the environment and wildlife in the area.
If you'd like to learn about how to grow your food, visit their website.
The project is also looking for people with some experience of gardening to help as volunteers.
