Would you like a healthy outdoor life? Cheaper, fresher, organically grown produce? Fresh eggs daily? A place to relax and meet friends? Then you need an allotment!
You can be self sufficient in fruit, vegetables and eggs, benefit from the fresh air, make new friends and enjoy a new hobby for just £12.70 a year. Yes, a 10 rod allotment is all you need. Ipswich has over 2,500 plots at 16 sites across the town. Most sites have adequate water supply, lockable gates and roadways. Some have car-parking facilities. There is one near you.
There is a concessionary scheme for many groups
So, all you need to do now is contact the council on 01473 262626 and ask for ALLOTMENTS. They will give you the name and address of your local field secretary. He will make an appointment to take you round the field and show you the vacant plots you may choose from. All you need to do then is fill in the form, pay your money and start to cultivate a whole new way of life and friends.
Good Luck!

Ipswich Allotment Holders Association .LTD
The Ipswich Allotment Holders Association is responsible for the letting of plots on behalf of Ipswich Borough Council. Meetings are held five times a year to foster good working relations with its members. The Annual General Meeting is held in March every year when allotment holders are invited to meet members of the Management Committee and for Council Officers to have their say.
We have taken part in the Ipswich Flower show this year. This was done to promote allotments and to show people the produce, which could be grown on the Towns allotment fields. We hope it impressed those who attended; a lot of work went into achieving success. If you did see our stand please ring or write to me about your impressions good or bad.
Our presentation evening in August takes place at the Ipswich Town Hall. This again shows that the joy of gardening is shared by many people. We shall be represented by all the winners of the Best Kept Plot Competition, which took place in June and July. I must also mention that the LA.H.A. is working very hard to provide it's members with special discounts on composts, lime, peat etc. This year we are running a seed scheme for members with Thompson and Morgan. .
May I wish the Ipswich Organic Gardeners Group a good harvest and look forward to meeting you all soon.
