BuryGreen
is a service and gateway to the various groups in and around Bury
St Edmunds, Suffolk, dedicated to protecting and improving our environment,
both the local and global physical biosphere and the social strands
of our community.
It has grown out of the pages which
for 3 years have reported the events around The Butts Water Meadows
in Bury, where Greene King’s corporate power has been pitted
against local people determined to protect the Meadows from the
threat of a road.
With the addition
during 2000 of pages about the Green House environmental resource
centre in Norwich, and Bury’s annual Green Fair, the potential
existed to develop www.BuryGreen.org.uk. Modest funding from the proceeds of the
2000 Green Fair, and a big effort by the authors, now brings the
site to life.
