TravelSmart aims to encourage households to walk, cycle and use public transport more often, by providing them with personalised local travel infromation, through a process known as Individualised Travel Marketing (ITM).

Could you encourage people to walk, cycle and take the bus more often? If so Sustrans, the UK’s leading sustainable transport charity, is recruiting Canvassers andTravel Advisors to work on its TravelSmart project.
CANVASSERS
Hours: Part time 4-8pm, now until end of July 2010
Pay: £6.45 per hour
Canvassers talk to residents to find out how they travel and offer free information.
You'll need to be a confident communicator, enjoy meeting people and have an interest in promoting sustainable travel.

TRAVEL ADVISOR
Hours: Occasional between now and August 2010
Pay: £11.50 per visit
Travel Advisors provide advice and information to residents in their home on walking, cycling and/or public transport.
You’ll need to be a confident communicator, have an excellent knowledge of sustainable travel and know the local area well.
